Three things that decide CS2 server performance

A Counter-Strike 2 server cares about clock speed far more than core count. The server process effectively runs on one core, and if that core is slow the loop falls behind in busy moments. One thing to settle up front: CS2 offers no tick rate choice the way CS:GO did. Valve fixed the server at 64 Hz and moved to sub-tick; Source 2 has neither a -tickrate launch parameter nor a tickrate ConVar. If you plan to run several servers (tournament, retake, AWP-only) on one VDS the rule is simple: budget roughly two cores per active server.

The second factor is latency, and in CS2 latency is the feel of the game. A server aimed at Turkish players but hosted abroad adds tens of milliseconds, which you notice on every peek and duel. Our servers in Datacasa Istanbul answer within 5-20 ms from major Turkish cities.

The third is memory and disk, where CS2 is generous: one 10-16 slot server runs in a few gigabytes. That is why plan choice usually follows how many servers you run rather than the needs of a single one. As your map and plugin library grows, NVMe SSD keeps map changes fast.

Sub-tick architecture

A steady server loop on high-frequency cores

Tick rate is no longer a setting in CS2: Valve fixed the server at 64 Hz and timestamps shooting, movement and grenade events with sub-tick precision. What is still in your hands is whether the server produces that loop without slipping. The Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5975WX in our Premium plans supplies the clock speed for it, and spending the same budget on faster cores rather than more slow ones shows up directly in how the game feels.

Turkey location

5-20 ms from Datacasa Istanbul

Your servers are hosted in the Datacasa data centre in Istanbul: 5-20 ms from major Turkish cities and 30-50 ms from the Balkans and the Middle East. That is latency your players notice next to a European location.

DDoS protection

A server that holds up on match night

Tournament and match servers are exposed. Protection is layered rather than a single appliance: volumetric traffic is absorbed upstream on the 10 Tbps capacity built with Aurologic and GibirNet, and what is left is filtered inside our own network by MikroTik devices, XDP-based packet filtering and rule sets we develop in house. Included with every plan, with no surcharge during an attack.

Full administrative access

Metamod:Source, CounterStrikeSharp and any plugin you need

Connect as root and build your own plugin stack. On CS2 that stack is the Metamod:Source 2.x dev build plus CounterStrikeSharp; SourceMod's stable 1.12 only supports Source 1 games and does not run on CS2. No slot limits, no panel restrictions, no plugin approval. Run retake, tournament and practice servers together on one VDS on separate ports.

Choosing a plan

Which plan for how many servers?

For CS2, plan choice usually follows how many servers run at once. Budget roughly two cores per active server.
