On Conan Exiles the load compounds over time
Conan Exiles is one of the fastest-growing games in terms of resource use on long-lived servers. Every building piece, every chest and every thrall is an object the server tracks continuously. Consumption that starts around 8 GB on an empty map pushes past 16 GB months later with the same player count.
The second factor is database size. Conan Exiles keeps world data in a single database file that grows constantly. On a slow disk, players see visible stutter during autosaves; NVMe SSD removes that.
The third is clock speed. In Unreal Engine most gameplay logic is processed serially on a single GameThread, while the rest of the engine (asset loading, physics, rendering) spreads across other threads. Adding cores does not speed up the main game loop, but it does let you run several server instances on one machine. Busy raid hours want both high clock speed and enough cores, hence the Premium line.
